epicureans graze
no starving frightened children in that place
just plenitude
abundant lucky wealth swirling like dancers in a ballroom
outside a mendicant sits his cap on the pavement and pleads for donors
just a few coins so lowly in the realm that he will perish anyway
then the heavens open and a giant crashing inundation on the tin roof deafens the rich even the vagrant grows silent and speculative
they are all silenced by nature
Powerful imagery
